Unnatural Selection - Muse
They'll laugh as they watch us fall / The lucky don't care at all / No chance for fate / It's unnatural selection / I want the truth / No religion or mind virus / Is there a chance the facts will ever find us

The Resistance takes a lot of listening to to appreciate. This is one of the exceptions. FYI, Matt is atheist. I repeat: Matt is an atheist. I absolutely love how he implied his being so (see above.) I'm not being elitist here, but you gotta agree, Unnatural Selection is prettyfuckingenius. I reckon this is about the other way around with natural selection, how we "evolve" towards death. Well maybe not exactly, but you know, society is crumbling.

Nonsense, but it sounds pretty

I realized that picspamming will make my blog load slower as Mr. Black Eyeliner is still, almost right below me, so I'll save all that for later. By later, I probably mean next next week, where I will start the post with an apology again, for abandoning this again, saying I'm busy again... Hey, I take back what I said before, I am consistent.

Let us now proceed to the bragging phase of this post. I'd love to talk to you all about my first stargazing experience. I got to use legit telescopes, stay up from 6PM to 7AM at school, dress my friend up as Dora, start and finish the record-breaking 50-item assignment, experience the beauty of the alleged 15K green laser pointer thingies, wake up to the SpongeBob theme song, hold a meteorite, locate the most magnificent tiny red dot in the universe--the planet Mars--and Saturn as well. Now that you're burning with jealousy (unless you happen to be a Setonian who attended the activity or an astronaut, though the chances of you, the random internet person on here, being anyone other than a Setonian is directly proportional to the chances of me being a dog), let me introduce to you my new blog idea that will hopefully, fingers-crossed, not fail and be disregarded by its pathetic owner!

Jesus Christ I love fragments/clauses/run-ons/dangling modifiers/unnecessary statements.

It's confessions. Simple as that. So to begin...
  • I've never owned a band shirt.
  • I only know about 5 Beatles songs. Of course I appreciate what they did to music, but I'm not a huge fan or anything; though my dad is.
  • I've read Twilight and New Moon and it was only 85% because I wanted to see for myself how bad it is. A part of me had a girl crush on Alice and Jasper.
  • Forgive me father for I lied before about trying smoking. I'm a straight edge kid.
  • Whenever I eat sunny side-up eggs for breakfast and whenever I eat roasted chicken, I consider going vegetarian not because I feel bad for the animals but because I find the food plain disgusting.
  • From that you could tell that I've considered going vegetarian about 896416132 million times, though I don't think I can embark on such a limiting lifestyle.

We went to the mall today and I saw this from David and Goliath:

I didn't buy it. Not only will it bespeak my love for London, it is also/can also be a Clash reference. AND, that "Oi!" killed me. On top of that, when I entered the store, they were playing All These Things That I've Done. It's a generally popular song, but in my country, to most people, The Killers are unheard of. The store basically met all the requirements for Megan to buy at least something. They also had this shirt, I forgot what the drawing was exactly but it said "I hate vampires" and I'd love to wear that when I go watch New Moon with my friends.

Don't get me wrong, I love vampires. They are the second most fascinating night creatures next to aliens. Stephenie Meyer's made-up world of "vampires" can actually pass for a parody, if it wasn't too serious, but that's how everyone's viewing them now. Sparkly. Romantic. Pah.

To end, I'd like you to know that I didn't get new earphones. Boo. I think my mom doesn't want to buy me the ridiculously overpriced Apple ones so I'm going to have to stick with crap earphones 'til they get busted. On a positive note, I bought myself this splendid pile of dead trees yesterday:

YES BITCHES. BOOKSALE HAS NEW STOCK. AP is for scene kids, but this one's cover story is titled Back Together For The Kids... I melted inside.

DMD 11/23-29/09

Since I can't abide my imaginary DMD rule of choosing the lyrics I like the most off the song of the day, which in effect makes me lazy and stop posting, I'll have it in a playlist whenever I dawdle.
  1. Over and Over - Hot Chip
  2. Can't Stop Feeling - Franz Ferdinand
  3. At Least I'm Not As Sad (As I Used To Be) - fun.
  4. Less Cute - Say Anything
  5. Him - Lily Allen
  6. Lost In The Supermarket - The Clash
  7. Money Honey - Lady GaGa
Well what do you know, save kooky for last. I am alarmed that a lunatic is present in that list. Speaking of lunatics and lists, I'm going to list down movies I want to watch. Went to the movies yesterday and seen Paranormal Activity. Not quite worth my money, but I did see trailers!
  • Zombieland: The trailer is beyond awesome. The lead guy reminds me of Michael Cera.* Michael Cera, though overrated, is--how do I say it--err, important. Plus, Jhonen Vasquez loved it.
  • Holmes: Everyone wants to see this; so do I. Mad detective shit, I have always been fascinated with. In fact, I'm reading about lateral thinking right now. Guy Ritchie's also directing this. Interesting.
  • A Christmas Carol: Based on my favorite childhood book. I absolutely love the story. I used to read this over and over again. My sister and her family's seen it in 3D and said it's great. Gah, I wish we watched this instead. I don't know what else to say. I have to watch this as much as Jack Barakat needs to watch Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. There.
  • The Vampire's Assistant: Another childhood favorite; though this one during the pre-teen years. I've influenced at least a dozen people to read the 12-book series. It may just be my liking of pre-Twilight, still awesome vampires or my low standards back then but I used to think Darren Shan's a genius. Main reason: First chapter of Book 1 and last chapter of Book 12. You wouldn't understand a thing if you read them without going through the pages in between but when you do, holy hell. That's all. Don't wanna talk about how shitty I believe the movie will turn out, spent too much time on that before.
  • Alice In Wonderland: See previous post.
  • The Lovely Bones: The film would mostly be told as an out of body experience, right? Oh hell yes, then. Based on an amazing book I haven't read yet but will. Gotta rush.

*Holy cow! Enlarge this shit!

I've been slacking.

16 days I have failed to update this blog because I am inconsistent like that. So firstly, I am going to flood you with the relatively *~new~* (no idea what those symbols are for, srsly, but I like using them [so very 14-year-old-ish of me]) songs I've been hooked on those past 16 days. Secondly, I will picspam with Lacoste Un peu d'air sur terre ads because I figured out how they do that and thought maybe it'd inspire me in some way, seeing that I failed to win a single award I've been nominated for -- 4 fucking nominations, mind you -- at the most important thing I've ever done in my life. More on that some other time. And thirdly, I have new blog ideas.
  1. Young, Dumb, And Stung - Say Anything
  2. Little Triggers - Elvis Costello
  3. Golden Age - TV On The Radio
  4. Meet The King - Forgive Durden ft. Greta Salpeter and Nic Newsham
  5. The Hardest Button To Button - The White Stripes
  6. It's Not Over Yet - Klaxons
  7. Bizarre Love Triangle - New Order
  8. The Dark Of The Matinée - Franz Ferdinand
  9. Electric Feel - MGMT
  10. Black Mamba - The Academy Is...
  11. Come Around - M.I.A. ft. Timbaland
  12. The Zookeeper's Boy - Mew
  13. Here I Stand - Madina Lake
  14. Walking The Dog - fun.
  15. Whatever - Gnarls Barkley
  16. Dope Nose - Weezer
I'll drop the lyrics for now. I always cheat, don't I?

Mostly from IAMX's MySpace because you don't need any effort to find great photos of him.

Roses - Kanye West
You know the best medicine go to people that's paid / If Magic Johnson got a cure for AIDS / And all the broke m'fuckers passed away / You tellin' me if my grandma's in the NBA /Right now she'd be okay... / Instead of sendin' flowers /We the roses /

I can't -- choose -- lines again! But anyhow. Who knew Kanye West was a family man. Great song.

Chris Corner looks like my favorite teacher

A few other things I'd like to say, apart from the title:
  • My favorite teacher is bisexual.
  • Make-up and circus-esque costumes never failed to attract my attention (Learn from Panic! and IAMX, you guys.)
  • Chris Corner's press photos look so awesome!
  • Both Chris Corner's and Lady GaGa's make-up artists must be awarded something. Now.
  • I need new music!
  • I still doubt The Vampire's Assistant. Then again, every Darren Shan fan who read the 12 Cirque Du Freak books as a kid will not like how most characters look.
  • I'm scared that I won't ever get over Brendon Urie. I've been done with the gah-he-has-a-new-cover-song phase a long time now but god, you must've seen me in the theatre during Jennifer's Body's Chip-is-spraying-something-on-his-half-naked-body scene where New Perspective was playing silently... then it fast-forwarded (pun slightly intended) to the chorus and I think I died.
  • The weirdest crush I've ever had was on Apollo (yes, the Greek god.)
  • I deleted my "Tell me, what is it that's so great about..." draft post, afraid that it's too uh, anti-society. Too against the attitude and mentality of the world today. Too Hate Everyone, if you know what I mean.
  • If you knew what I meant on that last bullet statement, I love you.
